Tickets now on sale for the 2023 AutoNation Orange Bowl Basketball Classic

Miami Lakes, Fla. (www.orangebowl.org) – Tickets are now on sale for the 2023 AutoNation Orange Bowl Basketball Classic on Saturday, December 9 at the Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise, Fla. The doubleheader will feature the Florida State Seminoles versus the South Florida Bulls and the Florida Gators versus the Richmond Spiders. Tipoff for the first game is tentatively scheduled for 1:30 p.m. The order of games and broadcast details will be announced at a later date.

The Classic, which is the only Division I basketball played in Broward County, will welcome fans and families during the holiday season with exciting basketball and holiday entertainment throughout the day. Fans are welcome to arrive at the arena 30 minutes before tipoff to enjoy the Pregame Party on the Plaza, featuring a live DJ, holiday photo ops, train rides for the kids, dance performances, arts and craft stations, fun family games and more.

 

The Florida State Seminoles and the South Florida Bulls will meet each other in the AutoNation Orange Bowl Basketball Classic for the third time, with the Seminoles coming out victorious in 2014 and 2019. Florida State has appeared in 12 Orange Bowl Basketball Classic games, owning a 9-3 record, while South Florida attempts for its first win in four appearances in the Classic. This will be the 35th time these programs face off since their first meeting in 1973. 

 

In a rematch of the 2009 Orange Bowl Basketball Classic, the Florida Gators and the Richmond Spiders will face off for the sixth time in program history. The Gators, who lead the series 3-2, will be making their 23rd appearance in the Classic with a record of 18-4, but first under second-year head coach Todd Golden. The Spiders, who won that 2009 meeting 56-53, have 27 wins over power-conference opponents under head coach Chris Mooney.
